We’re currently on vacation to Glacier National Park, so I thought I’d try using the WordPress app on my phone to publish a simple post. This week I brought just a few books along, just in case I catch a few moments to read in the car. So briefly, I brought:
And while I have you, I’ll share a few photos from our drive, so far:
Kellee Moye of Unleashing Readers and Jen Vincent of Teach Mentor Texts decided to give Kathryn’s (at Book Date) “It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?” meme a kidlit focus, reviewing books in children’s literature (picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, or anything in the world of kidlit). If you enjoy this type of reading, join us every Monday to share what you’ve been reading!
Hopefully you’ll find something of interest to add to your reading list. For other participants who link up, I’ll be making the rounds as I can.
Wow—the photos from your trip look so pretty! I really hope you’re enjoying your vacation. It’s nice to have a short post from you—all the books you’ve brought look great! I used to have a copy of One for the Murphys, but I might have gotten rid of it before I read it, unfortunately. Thanks so much for the great post!

It was incredibly beautiful up there. I hope we get to go back some day! One for the Murphys was worth waiting for. 🙂

Wow! Beautiful pics! I’m jealous of anyone who can read while in the car on a trip – motion sickness makes it impossible for me to do that!

Oh no, no, no. I mostly listen to audiobooks or read graphic novels while the car is moving. I have to read book-books when we’re stopped. I get motion sickness, too!

Beautiful photos. One for the Murphys is something else. I remember years ago one of my students read it, wrote Hunt a letter, which I posted on one of my social pages, and Hunt wrote her back. It was the most amazing thing to watch this kid read that letter. Proud teacher moment, that. I hope you have a great week. Happy reading!

That is so incredible that Hunt wrote her back! I just love hearing stories like that because it makes such a huge impact on kids. Thanks for sharing!!

I’m glad I finally got around to One for the Murphys. I think it was Elisabeth who encouraged me to read it (maybe it was a couple blog posts she wrote?). But it’s been sitting on my shelf for a couple years. So great!

One for the Murphys and Way to Stay in Destiny are both REALLY good! And I look forward to reading Amari though I suspect it’ll be a series, and I am going to wait for more of them to be out 🙂
Happy reading and safe travels!

I took a few books, but knew I’d mostly be listening to audiobooks. It’s hard for me to read while in a car. But I can listen to stories all day! 🙂
