I finally took some time this past weekend to mark all my summer reads on Goodreads. With the craziness in our lives, I let it go and simply read what I wanted without making a list. BOY do I regret that! It took some time, but I looked through all my history logs and think I got it all in order. I’d been holding out for a time when I could go through to rate and review every single one of them. Realistically though, I’m just not sure when that’s going to happen. So I decided to bite the bullet and give myself a fresh start. This will allow me to focus on future reads and discover where I am on my challenges.
But um, what’s up with the new book format on Goodreads? 😩 Seriously, I was only gone for two months. It slowed me down a bit, but maybe it’ll be quicker once I’ve figured things out. So… today will be another post where I’m only sharing book covers showcasing most of what I’ve read over the summer, including the #BigBookSummerChallenge. Maybe you’ll find something of interest to add to your reading list.

So many great books here! Someone I know was recently talking about The Radium Girls recently. It sounds interesting.

Lisa, it was TERRIFYING!! I actually listened to this one as an audiobook, but I looked at the photos of the girls and just hurt so much for all they went through. Highly recommend that as either a print book or audiobook!

Hi there! Wow! You have a lot going on! I agree about Goodreads. I’m so bad about actually logging in and doing anything, and I don’t like the “new way.” I’m an old lady, set in her ways! LOL
I LOVED Daniel Nayeri’s book — so funny, and true, and heartbreaking, and heartwarming!

I keep sending Goodreads my feedback. Like, I’m not liking how the new “shelves” is working. I’d rather see more of them without having to click over to the entire list. And I feel like everything is more spread out in the beta format. Also, it keeps asking me to verify by clicking photos (“click all pictures of mountains” “click all photos of cars” “click all photos of stoplights”). I’m so over ALL of it!! Grrr.

I’m so sorry getting your Goodreads together is such a hassle—I can definitely understand leaving these books behind and focusing on the already-difficult task of reviewing the books you read in the present! I’ve read and loved Starfish and The House in the Cerulean Sea, and I’m reading and enjoying Amari and the Night Brothers right now! And I’ve heard great things about so many of those other books that it’s not even worth trying to mention them all here. Thanks so much for sharing all the neat books you’ve had the chance to read!

I am glad I finally realized I was at that point of “show book covers of your summer reads and move forward.” It was so uncomfortable to keep worrying about whether I had time to write all those reviews. LOL

Nice to read about your week for the first time in a while. I enjoyed all of those Deckawoo Drive books that I see here and The Jumbies as well. I recently read Fast Pitch and I liked that one as well. All of Me and Rez Dogs are a couple of new books that my verse novel readers should really appreciate this year as well. My copy of Sea in Winter is on its way to me and I enjoyed the ARC I read early this year.
Lots of great books that I hope to get to as well. I still haven’t read Starfish, Ophie’s Ghost or Unplugged, and I hope to read them (probably in that order). A few of the YA ones here as well look good. Thanks for a great post!
